Seems like the fashion these days is for colon cleansing cures for weight loss. We’ve already tested several in our previous posts, including Clean Inside from Natural Swiss and Daily Power Cleanse, and today we’re looking at COLONIX from DrNatura Laboratories.
This program also offers a cleansing and deep detoxification of the colon via a plant-based program, to evacuate the parasites and residues at the origin of poor digestion, and also sometimes of weight gain.
Presentation & Promises by Colonix
Colonix is a cleansing program comprising 3 products:
- COLONIX: A mixture of fibers intended to cleanse the intestine;
- PARANIL: Capsules to detoxify the liver and eliminate intestinal parasites;
- and KLERITEA: To sleep well and strengthen the body’s detox.
A guide is available for download on the official website to allow quick familiarization with the program and also to ensure better use. Here are the main points to know in order to take Colonix in an appropriate way:
- Days 1 to 5 : 2 capsules of Paranil on an empty stomach; then ½ measure of Colonix to be mixed with 250 ml of water; KleriTea at bedtime.
- Day 6 and following : 4 capsules of Paranil; 1 measure of Colonix; and KleriTea every other day or less often.
It is strongly recommended to drink 8 glasses of water a day during the cure. Hydration is very important in any weight loss and detoxification process.

DrNatura, Maker by Colonix
DrNatura is an American company active since 1998.
According to the official website, DrNatura products are cGMP certified, i.e. they are manufactured under current Good Manufacturing Practices. The products are a priori designed by experts.
We decided to visit their Facebook page and landed on a page called DrNatura France (apparently there is a page dedicated to each country, since we found several). We were intrigued by 2 findings:
- The presence of a large number of links pointing to Natural Swiss (which reinforces our remark on the similarity between Colonix and Clean Inside from Natural Swiss);
- The last publication on the Facebook page dates from 2012.
Who is DrNatura really? Why are his social networks inactive? Why is information about this company not found? And what is the relationship between these two companies?
Our questions remain answered and our research stops there for the moment. For us who attach paramount importance to transparency, this vagueness tells us nothing of value.
The Ingredients of the Colonix treatment
Like all colon cleansers, the ingredient list for each product is long.
Colonix follows the same rule and presents us with the following list of ingredients:
1. COLONIX :
Which consists of: Psyllium, Linseed, Fennel Seed, Papaya, Pectin, Slippery Elm Bark, Marshmallow Root, Rhubarb Root, Guar Gum, Alfafa Leaves, Mint, Bearberry Leaves, Stevia, Licorice Root and Aloe Vera Gel.
The action of this mixture is to form a gel in the intestine. Once formed, this gel is supposed to trap superfluous residues, while promoting intestinal transit to improve and accelerate the elimination of accumulated toxins and feces. The different ingredients give Colonix laxative and anti-inflammatory properties that act in the digestive tract.
2. PARANIL :
It contains: Milk Thistle, Walnut Shells, Grape Seed Extract, Clove, Turmeric, Garlic, Hyssop, Gentian Root, Elecampane Root, Ash Bark, Parelle Root, Fenugreek Seeds, Mint, Root of Helionas.
Paranil acts as an anthelmintic, but also as a diuretic and liver detoxifier. It fights against gastrointestinal disorders.
3. KLERITEA :
Whose components are: Senna Leaves, Buckthorn Bark, Fennel Seeds, Chamomile, Mint, Cinnamon Bark, Ginger Root, Milk Thistle Seeds, Rose Hips, Uva Ursi and Passion Fruit.
This infusion accelerates intestinal transit, protects the liver and has anti-inflammatory properties.
The official website does not mention any study supporting and validating the benefits of the Colonix cure.
Side effects & Contraindications of Colonix
It is known that senna (wikipedia illustration) is a plant strongly discouraged in people suffering from inflammation of the colon, chronic constipation. Taking this ingredient in too high a dose or continuously over a long period of time can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, demineralization or toxic hepatitis.
The site also recommends using KleriTea only occasionally and in the short term.
The gel formed by the Colonix + liquid mixture can cause obstructions and the risk of choking.
It is without recalling that this kind of cure is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. People who are sick or under treatment must consult their doctor before taking this cure.
Price & Colonix Warranty
Colonix is guaranteed 60 days satisfied or refunded.
Its average displayed price is 100€ for a treatment spanning 1 month. On the official website, Colonix currently costs $85.
User Reviews on the Colonix treatment
The opinions unearthed on the web are quite disparate, coming both from very satisfied people and from people who consider the product ineffective.
Satisfied people were able to lose 6 kg in 3 months of treatment, and say they feel lighter. They noted a decrease in food cravings and a regulation of their appetite.
As for the dissatisfied people, they felt no effect, or even were subject to bloating, cramps and irritable bowel.
